The power of myths....... Tarot.

Furthermore, we have not even to risk the adventure alone, for the heroes of all time have gone before us. The labyrinth is thoroughly known. We have only to follow the thread of the hero path, and where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god. And where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves. Where we had thought to travel outward, we will come to the center of our own existence. And where we had thought to be alone, we will be with all the world. -- Joseph Campbell

=====================================

Recently, a friend of mine introduced me to this book.

It gave me insight into how and the reason of teaching tarot with stories and myths and with legends. It is the stories and myths and legends which paint pictures in our mind's eye and lets us remember the meanings of the cards.....

More over, perhap that is why some of the tarot decks like the Mythic tarot and Legend the arthurian Tarot tells of stories.

In my earlier posts on the star, Pandora.... is portrayed here.....

Jason's victory and story of the golden fleece is shown in all the wand cards of the tarot....The magician...... who else but merlin....
The story of sacrifice and love is more than that of the kitchen knight.......
