A third teen says man tricked her into sex

A 15-year-old girl told a jury yesterday that Hector Ayala, 59, a man she once considered family, tricked her into having sex by saying that it would ward off misfortune and help make wishes come true.
The girl is the third to testify at trial that Ayala, who is charged with rape, aggravated sexual assault and several related offenses, fooled her into sex by invoking untold mysticism.
She said that when she was 13, Ayala read her Tarot cards and said that he saw bad luck in her near future. He told her that it could be averted if she allowed him to perform oral sex on her.
"He was reading my cards and told me that I wasn't on a good path and that I had to do these things called 'five' and 'seven' to make things better," the girl said.
A 16-year-old, who testified Tuesday under questioning from Assistant District Attorney Leslie Gomez, said that Ayala also convinced her to have sex with him after reading her fortune.
Another 16-year-old testified last week that Ayala convinced her that having sex with him would lift a curse on her family.
All three girls testified that the numbers five and seven were part of a numerical code referencing specific sexual acts.
The 15-year-old said yesterday that she was reluctant to perform the sex acts with Ayala and considered his suggestion for several months, during which she described a home life that was "getting complicated."
"I kept thinking, 'Is this rape? Is this rape?' " she said, describing her thought process leading up to her sexual contact with Ayala. "I thought, 'No, it wouldn't be, because he cares about me.'
"I saw him as one of my family members and he wouldn't do anything to hurt me," she said.
She eventually agreed to Ayala's request. She said that he had told her to think of things that she wanted while he performed oral sex on her, and that she would get those things.
But, the girl said, Ayala then told her that the act would only yield temporary good fortune.
"He told me that I needed to do seven [vaginal intercourse] for it to be a complete job," the girl said."
After taking several months more to consider Ayala's new proposal, the girl said, she and Ayala had intercourse.
Following the encounter, Ayala told her to kiss him to prove her commitment to the supposed spiritual practice, the girl said.
She said that she had sexual contact with Ayala on only those two occasions. The other girls alleged that Ayala had abused them for years. *

It is a very sad day. Tarot is a good guide for people to use. However there are crooks and conmen in the world who would use it to prey on the weak and young.

That is the reason for me to put up my ethics when i do tarot reading.

I choose to read tarot at a cafe or common place as i want to put the client at ease.

Even if the female client were to come to read at my house, i would have a female friend around and open my front door to do the reading in the hall to put her mind at ease.

I want to help people and not be like the person in the article.

However, it is due to these dark hearts that tarot is given a bad name.

RECENT DOINGS AND SOME TAROT TIPS.

Recently, I am finding my centre. However, due to a lot of distractions, such as chinese new year, trips to thailand, new christmas presents and stuff, i am unable to focus and find it. I feel restless. My saturn or fixed ways were moved.

In addition to this, i was down with a flu for last 2 weeks. Hence much of my appointments were cancelled.

However in the last couple of days, i met several of my clients.

And still realise that there is a lot of people and uncertainty in the hearts of people especially with the current financial crisis and jobs being on the line.

I have used quite often the Golden dawn 15 card spread lately. It has proven to me as one of the more dynamic decks in which i could use.

In addition, last tarot gathering, i am glad to see a lot of new faces and someone who was using an Osho Zen tarot. Personally, i do not find the Osho Zen tarot very friendly for me as the images in the tarot and the numbering is in zen method with no connection with the actual familiar tarots images which i can associate with.
Hence i requested a reading done on how to improve my skills. The reader was the one using the Osho Zen tarot. I have used the Rider Waite as the above spread of used for people to understand.

In the Osho zen tarot the ace of wands means source of power, which he defines that i have a lot of passion for the art and power to proceed.

In the 4 of wands and 4 of pentacles, means i need to give up pursuit of the material aspects of the art in order to proceed.

In addition, the 8 of cups means i need to look for new relationships to develop my tarot or seek within for answers.

Death as the final card means time for changes.... stop my distractions and concentrate.

Perhaps this trials and periods are telling me that my journey for enlightenment needs to begin again. and i need to be the fool or have a zen mind to start with.

Empress..... for today and knowledge gained.

My aikido teacher once told me that when you learnt kartas and moves in martial arts it is only form.

When you have mastery of the art, unlearn all you have and there is where you develop your own style.....

I am still fixed with spreads, meanings and the various mythos which i have learnt.

Today, i had the opportunity to meet one whom i feel is greater in the understanding of the art of tarot. Especially on the trust and strength of intuition. I am humbled and awed by her pressence alone......

Well she is a very intuitive in her understanding of art and of the tarot.

She shares similar views in tarot in the sense that she does readings with no reversals and also that she has similar taste in art as me.

I brought 3 decks to the meeting today. The Tarot of dreams, the lunatic tarot and the necronomican deck.

Well Impressed by her pressence and the conversation with her. I decided to request for a reading from her. She showed me a simple 5 card reading on a question which i had doubts on.

It was quite awesome. As it showed exactly my feelings about the question and gave me insight which i did not get when i did the reading for myself.

Past, Present and Future: 3 card Tarot spread.

This is a simple spread.



Often it is used to know a matter's past present future.



Although simple, in the hands of an experienced Tarot reader, it would reveal much to him.




On Saturday Evening, Apol and I had the pleasure of meeting another Tarot reader in singapore. I requested the reader to do a three card spread for Wen and I.



For the purposes of the spread, the reader only used 22 major arcana cards and the spread is as follows.



According to how the person saw it.

Wen has some dark secrets which he is unable to let go of based on the devil.
the present card is the best card in the deck and is cycle of luck as good.
the last card is a new beginning.

According to how i see it.


This spread shows the following aspects.

Firstly, in the past, perhaps Apol had lost of control, giving into lust, bad acts and such.
The present sees a realization of control of enlightenment and achievement.
The future sees Apol questing for more knowledge and control of himself.

According to how the person saw it.

I had a higher calling for higher purpose in the past and i am not doing what i am to do.

The temperence explantion is saying that there should be action since all elements are there.

The person explained that the magician is also initiation of actions and all elements are there.

In my terms, i disagree with the meanings given for judgement. there is no higher purpose for me to do or calling in the past.

It is more like i need to let go of the past issues.

the meanings for temperence given by the reader is vague and very shallow. the person kept stress on luck cycles and of good fortunes. i don't understand why. to me the temperence meant art of alchemy which is to take actions from thoughts and to fulfill them in reality and to change my perceptions and dreams and fulfillment.

the meaning for the magician is to let my will be done an emphasis of the 2nd card.

After meeting the reader, our assessment of the reader and from our conversation with the person is disappointment. We had expected that the person possessed some level of higher understanding in tarot. Instead the person has not even achieved the 1st level of the art which is mastery of the major arcana. In our course of conversation, i did offer to guide the reader and give some pointers, but i was flatly refused and challenged by the person in stating that the person had his own methods and will not accept information. Thus the person's cup was too full and satisfied with the current cup not wanting to change and get a bigger cup? Or the student is not ready? or the master is not worthy for this student?

In my opinion, the 3 card spread should include all 78 cards as each is different and each card will give further emphasis of the others. Using all majors, as a tarot reader beginner, it seems acceptable but one would fall into the trap of comfort with them and forget ever using the balance of the deck.

Intuition and Systematic Tarot readers.

There are several types of Tarot readers in the world and there are many many methods of how a tarot reader conduct their readings.



Psychic readers



Some are pure psychics in their readings.

They conscrate their cards.

Their cards are their personal tools.

They develop bonds with their cards through practice.

Concerntration and emotions are very essential in this practice.

Their personal ability and latent strenght determines each tarot reader's ability.

Strenght in the readings are drawn from within these persons.



In conducting readings, they normally do not allow others to touch their cards which they have developed bonds to.

They need quiet and peaceful places in order for them to focus their thoughts better.

They need to remain calm and focused through the readings in order to ensure that they do not project their own thoughts, emotions and feelings into the reading.

If they project their own feelings and emotions into the reading, it may become Skrewed and incorrect.

They become tired in readings as they use their psychic energies and their own concentration in their readings.

Becoming 1 with their cards.



When they teach their students or apprentices, they are not able to fully give them the skills which they have developed over the years.

This is due to the fact that their students may not have the same intuitive skills or psychic ability.

In addition, most of these teachers try their utmost to request their students to have try out on their own and give very vague or little guidelines.





Systematic tarot readers.



These tarot readers follow the teachings of established schools of thoughts and of established writings.

It could be Alexister Crowley's works, Arthur Waite's works, Morgan Geer's work, the Amberstone's works.

These readers use a system of meanings, symbolism and various other tools to assist themselves in readings.



When they conduct readings, they allow others to pick the cards.

By doing so, the projection into the cards is by the querant and not the reader.

Hence the concentration of the querant is more important.

The main purpose of these systematic readers are to allow their clients to focus and their accuracy of the reading is purely on the client.

They do not project their feelings much into the cards and hence they do not become tired easily.


When conducting classes on tarot, they are able to reproduce their knowledge better.

Much of their knowledge can be captured in writing.

So the students can get more information on the Tarot and how to use the cards.

However, the ability of the students to understand these writings are evident and important.
