4 of swords. Taking a break and rest. ISA. Rune of ice.

The four of swords is the card of rest or temporary pause in a situation.

The flow of logic in the 3 swords pointing down is broken by the fourth sword which is at rest.

It is the card of taking a break from work to reflect on oneself before proceeding.

A person in a quarrel cannot see himself. Only by resting and a period of truce could one reflect on the situation. removing one from confrontation.

Similarly in the runes, there is the Rune ISA. the rune of ice. after the autumn months of harvest it is the winter months a period where the fields rest in Ice and snow covers the land.

It is a period of hibernation for a lot of animals a period to sleep.

Isa is a period of cooling off. It is also the single line. The line that divides. it is of terminus nature.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Being in November. It is a good time for all to rest and refocus for the longer road ahead.

Merry christmas and happy holidays everyone.

Kirin, Jera (runes) and 10 of pentacles. Abundance.

In all the cultures of the world, we have various symbols which can relate to abundance and wealth generation. I will provide the following 3 items which are symbols of wealth and good luck.

First off, we have the rune Jera. it is the runes of transaction, the rune of wealth and of giving and taking. It is the rune of transaction and trade. It resembles the golden hair of Sif, Thor's wife and her hair is the color of wheat ready for harvest.

It is also related to the net. In the times of the vikings, the net and the diet of fish is critical to them. Hence the ability to catch fish is very import and a form of wealth. the Salmon and the fish is very important to everyone.

The qi ling, is in the chinese methos as a animal of protection and wealth. you can see one is a mother and protects children and kids, the other kirin is the male kirin with the ball of money creation.

In tarot, the pentacle is a symbol of wealth and it is in the shape of a sphere. the 10 of pentacles is the ultimate creation of wealth.
you see all the money and affects of the rich in the picture.

Life stages and the Major arcana.

The major arcana is a set of cards which have been mentioned to represent various stages of a person's life path.

When we begin a journey of learning, or are born in this world. We are like the fool and experience a new start. without knowledge or mastery, we have a beginner's mind and find our ways to enlightenment.

Along the way there are instances of sudden change. The towers which we are constantly built up, will be destroyed. Our egos are challenged constantly. Matters great and small. Destruction of what we knew, may no longer be truth.
In the lovers, we make choices, decisions on whom to marry, whom to love, whom to partner how to communicate. it is a constant choice matter.

We know not the understanding of times. We are confused and illusions sometimes clouds our minds. like the moons and the tides which are caused by it, non consistancy.

Yet it is through these inconsistancies which we emerge. A new day dawning. A new life to us. Be it a change in job, education or status like marriage and birth of child. A sun would brighten the darkest nights.

And perhaps we find a need to reorganise and to be the king or emperor of our lives.... to be a father, a boss or just picking up the pieces.......

The above 6 cards could be a person's life story. In short.... it describes what has happened in my life for the past 3 years.

Tarot Garden In Italy.http://www.nikidesaintphalle.com/

http://www.nikidesaintphalle.com/

I was introduced to the tarot Garden by Marie of France.

Italy has a Garden which is built on the theme tarot.

There are statues of Dragons in this case representing the lady taming it.... Strength card.

This is the Devil Statue. One of control and power. But bright and brillantly colorful.

It does not seem all that scary? It has many a colors and the 4 elements represented in the 4 different limbs?

Another Scary card..... death.... but bright and colorful.
Perhaps one day i would visit this tarot garden.

Tarot art by Philipino artist Brenda V. Fajardo

Brenda V Fajardo, (born 1940 in Manila), painted a set of paintings with the idelogies of using tarot as a source of hope for the people. She did these sets of painting during the 1980s during the martial law period in the Philippines. She was interested to Filippinize the images of tarot to reflect the times. Then as a source of inspiration, she did the images around the central image to reflect the social reality of the times. The cards served as a guide inspiration for her.
The images in the above is about the japanese occupation. On it there was 8 of wands, lovers, 2 of wands, magician, 4 of pentacles, moon, page of pentacles, 9 of wand, the sun, 4 of wands temperence, 3 of cups, knight of wands and hanged man.

The following is what i could see from the cards chosen.

The 8 of wands reflect the times are very violent and things happen very fast without thinking. Love was one of the things to see people through, 2 of wands means tough choices needed to be made, Magician in this shows the tricksters and traitors selling their wares for the japanese. the 4 of pentacles refer to tight control. the moon refers to the uncertainty of the times, the page of pentacles looks like freedom fighters planning the freedom of the country, the 9 of wands means the struggle they going through to make the sun which is the new nation. the 4 of wands means a completion of the ideals of the nation building. the 3 of cups and knight of wands and the hanged man means the sacrifices one must make in nation building.

The above image is about her selfhood and her growing up.
The cards she chose are 2 of pentacles, High priestess, Temperance, Star, the Moon and the Sun.
All cards of hope and confidence.

SHADOW PLAY AND SHADOW CARD TAROT

When there is light, there will always be shadow. Candles of power are also followed by shadows in the dark.

In 'Tarot for Your Self'." Mary K. Greer talks about shadow card(s).

Hidden Factor Card as Shadow Card
Your [A] Hidden Factor Card [or cards] indicate aspects of yourself that you fear, reject, or don't see, and thus can also be called the Shadow Card. The shadow, a term used and defined [coined] by Carl Jung, refers to unknown or little-recognized parts of the personality. These are aspects of yourself that you deny, and thus can not see directly. However, you will remain sensitive to these qualities and therefore tend to see them in others via the psychological mechanism of 'projection' [projection is a term coined by Freud and redefined by Jung].
http://www.dallasartsrevue.com/solstice/Pages/T-065-Primer-n-Projection.html

Using the Tarot and Shadow Cards
Some people just use the reversed meaning of a tarot card for the meanings of the shadow aspects of a given card. I prefer using a numerology concept for figuring out the shadow aspects of a spread/reading.
Add the number values of all the cards. Court cards all normally just have a value of zero [0] and The Fool has a value of 22.See: Court Card Values
After adding all the values, if the number is bigger than 22 then reduce the number by adding together the individual digits in the number
Example: 10 of Cups [10] .. 7 of Wands [7] .. The World [21]
Adding the card values together we have; 10+7+21=38.
Since 38 is higher than 22 then we reduce the number 38 by adding the separate digits together to get 3+8=11
Once you have a number between 1 and 22 then this number becomes the Number Total [NT} or the Number Key [NumKey] of the reading/spread.
You then equate this number to it's corresponding Major Arcana card.
Each Major Arcana card has it's shadow card, or cards which can be found by adding or subtracting 9 to the value of the Major Arcana card value until you exceed 22 or go below 1.
To make it easier, here is a list of the Majors and the cards related to it. Given the number total of the spread/reading cards then anyone of the cards in each group can be the NumKey [Number Total] - which will make the other number/cards the shadow card/s for that reading/spread. Note: Some categories have three numbers/cards associated with them, while some only have two numbers/cards associated with them. Note also that each double digit in each category reduces down to the base/root number [1 to 9] of that category.
The 1'sKey 1: The MagicianKey 10: The Wheel of FortuneKey 19: The Sun

The 2'sKey 2: The High PriestessKey 11: Justice [or Strength]Key 20: Judgement

The 3'sKey 3: The EmpressKey 12: The Hanged ManKey 21: The World

The 4'sKey 4: The EmperorKey 13: DeathKey 22: The Fool

The 5'sKey 5: The HierophantKey 14: Temperance

The 6'sKey 6: The LoversKey 15: The Devil

The 7'sKey 7: The ChariotKey 16: The Tower

The 8'sKey 8: Strength [or Justice]Key 17: The Star

The 9'sKey 9: The HermitKey 18: The Moon
================================
We did 3 readings on 17th September to test the shadow card.

In the above spread which is my yes no spread.
Question is (Will i be able to quit my private study without having any additional cost since i have lost interest in schooling?)

The cards are (left yes) 1) king of cups, 2) seven of swords, 3) 3 of swords, 4) 2 high priestess, (right no) 5) page of pentacles 6) 10 of wands 7) 9 hermit 8) knight of wands. (centre) 9) queen of swords 10) 10 of pentacles.

Hence the answer is 50 / 50. It depends on how things goes. on the one end he has people to help him which is the high priestess and king of cups. Due to 10 of pentacles.

On the other end, page of pentacle is to do planning 10 of wands is a lot of factors against him and hermit which is the school is seeking money. knight wands which is a lot of quarrels.

The queen of swords is a lot of balance and justice and mediation. 10 of pentacles is again help.

Hence he is going to get good help. If he follows, it will be good.

The Shadow card is 7 + 3 + 10 + 2 + 9 + 10 = 41 = 5 which is hierophant.

Help or contracts or bureacracy. Hence he must face the contracts, which he signed for the school. the shadow of the shadow is Temperence which is Art. which is to do what he needs and must put into actions.

Responsibility and discretion of tarot reading.....

The picture above is an artist's picture of the ace of pentacles.......

It shows the pentacle as an offering... however due to the the naked body of the woman attached. it may have the wrong implication of sexual offerings... which obscures the need of the pentacle.
============================================

Moving along... As tarot readers, we have quite a lot of responsibilities, especially moral obligations. Normally our clients would be with a lot of troubles.
We need to understand their needs.
Sometimes these clients would blame us for the wrongs which have happened to them....
Normally i try to let them see that it was because of the past or certain factors which causes the situation to be as such.....
that they need to be responsible of the consequences and also that they can change the outcome of the future by being responsible of the past.

Discretion is very very important to a tarot card reader.
There was an incident in which a client went to another tarot card reader. She went on two occassions and on both occassions she went with a different guy. The tarot card reader lacked the discretion and revealled to the 2nd guy that the client came on a prior occassion with another guy.
This cause unhappiness for the lady and the 2nd guy, whom she liked very much.
Hence it is very important for tarot card readers to have discretion.... it is part of our ethics....
Having said this..... i would uphold my ethics and give full discretion to all my clients.

Tarot spreads and celebrating my birthday.

The last day of the sun Sign of pisces.
It is also My birthday.
Basically, it was a day where i spent fruitfully with beloved friends and a diamond dreamer, whom graced with with chocolates and presents alike.

It is also on this weekend that a lady client inquired me on the reading which is above.

I did not do the reading, it was done by her and i only interpret for her.....

Basically, she wanted to know her relationship with this person.

Firstly i would see that in this relationship it is one built for work. A lot of pentacles and that she met him at work.

There is disappointment in the relationship in the past and hope that it may solve her problems by the 5 of cups and the 6 of swords.

With the progress of the relationship, it may not be well due to loss in wealth..... 10 of pentacles (r) and 5 of pentacles.

The knight of swords, poses the question that there may be lots of quarrels to arise from it.....

The reversed ace of pentacles, proves that the quarent does not see the relationship to be good too...

Final advise is the chariot which is for the quarent to find out what she wants out of the entire relationship.......

=================================================

Well perhaps i too need to re align what i want with my relationships with my friends too..?

XIAXUE AND TAROT CARD READING.

Recently I was reading's Ms unpredictable's blog and saw that XIA XUE actually did a tarot card reading... on her blog..... xiaxue.blogspot.com,

http://www.clicknetwork.tv/watch.aspx?c=1&p=8&v=174

Well i saw the video and saw her doing the Celtic cross spread....

The deck which she used is quite a basic deck with a lot of meanings on each of the card too. It was based on the Waite rider deck.
Basically her first statement about the tarot card reading is correct...

she does notknow how to do it properly.... and she is doing it for the first time.

However, as a beginner she made a lot of mistakes.
1) She did not have in mind her question prior to beginning.
2) She had no idea what she wanted to do.
3) She asked each card a question. To me, when i do reading, technically 1 spread is for 1 question. Normally an important question.

So if she wants to do it her method... it is traditionally wrong and incorrect.

However, just for analysis sake and for the clarification of the spread done.

Basically, the celtic cross is a snap shot of a person's life in the case whereby one does not have any questions.

Provided that the cards are not rigged and that she just wanted to know what is happening in her life, i can conduce the following.

1) 3 of wands, (present) She has did a lot of effort in work and in matters of investment and thinks that these are virtues which she should have and is patiently waiting for these matters to come to fruitation.

2) 8 of swords (the card the crosses), Basically, she feels trapped in her current stage and has many committments and contracts. as a result she does not see that there are paths to be opened for her and opportunities which could available for her......

3) Knight of cups (what is beneath her) this is a card which means her motivations and her actions are based on emotions. she could be doing this out of her love of blogging and such..... in addition, it could also mean that currently she is in love.....

4) The Star ( Hopes and dreams) This is a card of high hope and of great things to come..... She is hopeful of great deeds to be accomplished and of heights to be taken..... and scaled.....

5) Queen of cups (immediate past) Well this card shows that there has been some drama on her emotional side lately and a lot of ups and downs in relationship issues... it could also mean that she is very very in need of some emotional support....?

6) 7 of wands ( immediate future) time for wait is over....one must fight with valour and courage in order to achieve one's future...? challenges await.... rewards need to wait.

7) 7 of swords ( how the immediate future will turn into) See the thief..... beware of those who steals ideas and thoughts.... beware dreams dashed or ideas thrawted....... It may also mean expectations may not be met.....

8) 10 of pentacles ( how others see you in this time) you are viewed as a success to general public.... you have power, wealth and achievement.... yet it is a card of pinnacle of success..... What goes up? must come down?

9) Queen of Wands ( how you view yourself) You view yourself as a queen.... matured and have great knowledge and friendly to all.... you may appear firey on the outside.... yet you are a kitty in the inside.... PRIDE is your worst enemy.....

10) Two of wands (Final outcome) choice..... you are to review the past.... analyse the facts.... and make a decision for the future.... what do you want to achieve?

============================

My review of XIAXUE.... well you need more practice to be a good reader.... but you need to read up more.... understand.....
