THE FOOL CARD 0 THE BEGINNING

The fool is the 1st card of the major arcana.

It is the beginning of a journey. Like the path of a hero. he starts on his journey of learning and enlightenment. One of my favourite stories of all time is Star wars and Luke skywalker starts his path to be a jedi as a boy on a ranch without much knowledge. Perhaps he has certain skills but throughout the journey of the shows. he matures and becomes a jedi.

John Constantine is portrayed as the fool here due to his many uses of magic without a lot of understanding. He loses many of his friends in the past due to wrong magical practices. However, as his story proceeds he gains wisdom. Yet he is still in the game of life.

The fool is often portrayed as a baby. and the quantum leap to emerge from the womb is the biggest step to the unknown. from the depths of a warm watery place to a place of elements he lives the protection of the mother.

Crowley's fool has the umbical cords tied to him and is still a babe. he starts as the green of day.

It is the start of a journey. a leap of faith. yet it also symbolised the folly of men. the leave the known to go to the unknown. that is why there is always a dog to remind us of the folly.

Yet the fool's thoughts may be the most truthful. in medival periods the fool was one who can speak his mind and perhaps reminds the emperor that he is not wearing any clothes as in the emperor's new clothes?

In all we are all fools to certain extent of our lives. the starting of journeys and of adventures. Wasnt christopher columbus called a fool to start on his voyage to america? without fools in the world..... we would all stagnant and there will be no explorers, scientist or adventurers.

Remember.... remember the dreams of our past,

Ever do we seek them when we were cast.

From our daily lives we seek them,

Yet it is few, those who are foolhardy and of great vision to take the 1st step.

which will lead them to a new world or to the castle which are right there in the air.

We salute all fools, adventurers, discoverers and inventors to boldly go where no men has gone before.

I too am a fool, when i quit my job, to do this full time. I felt the development of my job was not to the spirit hence i left the job to do tarot card full time as a path to enlightenment.
Yet the rewards of it is immeasurable.

ANGELS AND DEVILS

Last friday nite was our tarot nite at Sanctum.

We discussed several matters. One of the matters was the similarities of the Lovers card and the Devil Card. A topic which Ser Ming brought up for discussion.

Looking at the devil card you see 2 persons a guy and a lady bound by chains to the devil and that the centre is a strong earthly link (Capricorn is the ruling sign)

The women is the tree of knowledge by her tail (inituition) whereas the male is the tree of life.

The cards is dark and symbolises lust or a bit of oppression.

Similarly, the couple is shown in the lovers card. But they are free.

Similarly the tree of knowledge and the tree of life are behind both adam and eve.

The centre is a cloud which is of the air sign gemini.....

The interesting comparison still stems more meaning as it seems the lovers cards is the freedom of choice and communication whereas the devil is oppression and bondage due to lust.?

Love is freely given and enjoyed.

Lust and sin will bind and corrupt?

That is an interesting look at 2 similar cards but dis-similar situations?

So is your partner, your lover or your sex obession?

the hanged man

The Hanged man, 12th card of the major arcana.
Card which is ruled by neptune and the element of water.
card of mysteries.
of sacrifice.

There are always gods on sacrifice... Odin for the Nordic, Jesus, Kwan yin, Buddha, Osiris eyptian.

They emerge from deaths to be wiser.

"No victory is true without effort or sacrifice"

An example....
A client of mine was given a precious moment figurine when she was young. At that age she did not know the value of the gift. Till a day when the figure was broken. then she realise it was a precious gift.

It would also be seen as examples of experience.

If you never did tarot reading on Orchard road, you would never know the experience.

If you never sat on a roller coaster, you would never know the feeling of the thrill.

If you never fell in love before, you would never know the bliss and heartaches of it....

If you have never lost a loved one, you would never experience loss....

I like Odin and the myth surrounding his hanging on the world tree....

Extract from american gods....

"I know a charm that can cure pain and sickness, and lift the grief from the heart of the grieving.
"I know a charm that will heal with a touch.
"I know a charm that will turn aside the weapons of an enemy.
"I know another charm to free myself from all bonds and locks.
"A fifth charm: I can catch an arrow in flight and take no harm from it."
His words were quiet, urgent. Gone was the hectoring tone, gone was the grin. Wednesday spoke as if
he were reciting the words of a religious ritual, or remembering something dark and painful.
"A sixth: spells sent to hurt me will hurt only the sender.
"A seventh charm I know: I can quench a fire simply by looking at it.
"An eighth: if any man hates me, I can win his friendship."

"A ninth: I can sing the wind to sleep and calm a storm for long enough to bring a ship to shore.

"Those were the first nine charms I learned. Nine nights I hung on the bare tree, my side pierced with a
spear's point. I swayed and blew in the cold winds and the hot winds, without food, without water, a
sacrifice of myself to myself, and the worlds opened to me
.

"For a tenth charm, I learned to dispel witches, to spin them around in the skies so that they will never
find their way back to their own doors again.
"An eleventh: if I sing it when a battle rages it can take warriors through the tumult unscathed and unhurt,
and bring them safely back to their hearths and their homes.
"A twelfth charm I know: if I see a hanged man I can bring him down from the gallows to whisper to us
all he remembers.
"A thirteenth: if I sprinkle water on a child's head, that child will not fall in battle.
"A fourteenth: I know the names of all the gods. Every damned one of them.
"A fifteenth: I have a dream of power, of glory, and of wisdom, and I can make people believe my
dreams."
His voice was so low now that Shadow had to strain to hear it over the plane's engine noise.
"A sixteenth charm I know: if I need love I can turn the mind and heart of any woman.
"A seventeenth, that no woman I want will ever want another."

"And I know an eighteenth charm, and that charm is the greatest of all, and that charm I can tell to no
man, for a secret that no one knows but you is the most powerful secret there can ever be."

"In the Great Hall of Valhalla, the Tarot Play continues into the Minor Arcana as swords meet staves at the valorous Feast, fill your Cups and Pentacle-plates, while Brigid-Babalon gives the Beast his Just Desserts..."

Treasure is not always clear and dangers lurks in secrets kept....

Victory is best when effort is placed....
Same as love.
Hence, if you pursued a girl with effort and sacrifice, and wins.... it is most gratifying.

LOVERS CARD OF COMMUNICATION, OF LOVE OF UNDERSTANDING.....

"It takes 2 hands to clap....

It takes 2 feet to walk from place to place,

It takes 2 to finish an art. (artist and art lover)"

Without one there is no other. fulfillment is not met.

Lovers card 6 in the major arcana.

Card of communication. See the lovers understanding the thoughts of the other. Entwined in both heart, spirit and soul. from 2 becomes one.

Ruled by Gemini, the sign of communication, it is the card of understanding. The total blend of mind and actions.

With this card is relationships understood.....

Communications, via words, via actions.... any form... to let the other party know what one's heart's felt feeling.....

Lovers is also about choices.... which lady to choose. Is it the path of enlightment where the fool would go or down the tarrying path in which one would go if one follows one's heart?

Is it the pretty girl to the left or the wise maiden on the right?
It is going beyond one's mind's eye....
to reach out beyond one's fear and to touch and commune with the other party.....
Recently in my daily draw this card appeared.....
On that actual day, i took my 1st step to knowing a lady whom took my breath and mind away.....

The following poem, i wrote in passion to commune with her my thoughts....
something like 为你写诗-吴克群 a song comes to my mind.....

When I gazed upon thy courtance,
A dream it seemed to me,
You shone like a diamond,
with a eyes like almond
and skin of porcelain,
An angel come to life,
taking away my time of strife.
In the dark you brought new light.
to end the drought of plight.
A stirring in my heart,
Caused me to stumble,
As awe filled me...
Dumbstruck i am...
Faltered the tarot cards in my hands
as i begun my reading....
Perhaps your laughter is the chimining of bells
clear and resolute,
Bringing sound to a silence nite.
Muse you are to me....
for it is to you a dedicate this poem of love....

THE MAGICIAN CARD 1 OF THE MAJORS.

The magician, is a card of great possibilities....

He is the opposite of the fool whom there is no knowledge and no idea what her wants and let himself go with the wind.

He is power incarnate. A physical demostration of power.

As in the cards, you see that all the suits of the minors are stated in the magician. He has the outward appearance of a capable man and has the ability to make his goals come to life.

In most cards there is the infinity sign in the picture. it shows the infinite powers of a magician. Prior to actions, all the potential in the universe is gathered. All possibilities are able to present itself....

Next.... you see that in the cards most magician has a table with the tools which are the minor suits... this means the choices and the resources to make everything possible, you need to choose.... it means to choose to act or remain inert.

Wisdom is in the card of the magician. it is outwardly shown.... you see the tools his skills all laid out.... unlike the high priestess..... which is hidden....

He points to the heavens and points to the earth. this action has several significance.
1) it means, "may my will be done..." the act of magic requires preparations, and the art of conceptualising the illusion or the act. hence very strong will. another more reportoire manner of speech is "May the heaven's will be manifested on earthly means...."
2) it could also mean of heaven and of earth there is only me to make the changes which is required because i am at the point of action. When the Buddha was born, it was rumored that the child pointed to the heavens and the earth in the same manner....
For power, it is very powerful card.... yet there is a dark sign. power uncontrolled and used for dark deeds....

Bearing in mind, HERMES and THOTH are both trickers gods....
HERMES often tricks other gods to his ends.
THOTH tricked RA to give up this powers and even won a nite from him in a chess game.
It could mean that there is a smooth talking sales man trying his luck to trick you....

Or what it is may not be what it seems.......
Yet.... it is the card I and the card of action...... Binary code... 0 to 1. 1 is again power on!!!!.

ACE OF CUPS

The rider Waite's Ace of wands shows the following.

The waters are beneath, and thereon are water-lilies; the hand issues from the cloud, holding in its palm the cup, from which four streams are pouring; a dove, bearing in its bill a cross-marked Host, descends to place the Wafer in the Cup; the dew of water is falling on all sides. It is an intimation of that which may lie behind the Lesser Arcana.
Divinatory Meanings: House of the true heart, joy, content, abode, nourishment, abundance, fertility; Holy Table, felicity hereof.
Reversed: House of the false heart, mutation, instability, revolution.

The above is from the FAVOLE tarot which is symbolised by a rose. Rose is the symbol of relationships. As it is a deck which is more of the gothic manner, the cup is not used.
The idea of Ace in a reading is beginnings and rediscovery of ideas and circumstances which one my understand.

On christmas eve, my daily draw card is the ace of cups and at a party, i met up another whom was skilled in the art of BAZI and was tested by him on a particular bazi and Also tarot reading. He was very impressed by my skill in tarot and stated that it was quite accurate. For BAZI, he was satisfied with the explanation which i gave based on the chart which he plotted for me. I did state that if i had the 10000 year calender, i could reveal more informations.
I also met a few new people at the party. However i feel that the ace of cups meant meeting this particular person at the party.
The crowley's tarot is similar with promises of good relationships being developed.

The above ace is from Doro tarot.
http://www.dorotarot.com/aceofcups.html

The Ace of Cups shows a radiating blue chalice floating on a beautiful lotus flower in the midst of clear waters of the ocean. The all-containing magickal chalice represents the Holy Grail with streams of water and blood overflow from the cup indicating the outpouring of initial emotions of every dimension. The awakening light of love emanates from the chalice directing its transcending beams of illumination in to the universe where lovers entwined in the clouds embrace each other in the first stirrings of passion. The Ace of Cups stands for the direct knowing that comes from the heart reminding us that love is the most important and elementary aspect of life. It liberates the body, replenishes the soul and inspires the psyche.
Keywords: New love, aspiring relationship, stimulated passion, intuitive forces, overflowing emotion, realization of self-love, spiritual growth, awakening, intimacy, fertility, receptivity, abundance, imagination, liberation, grace, desire, clarity, flow, attraction, inner connection

The above Ace of cups is by Micheal and the website is as follows.

9 of swords Worry.

Card of worry in the rider Waite imagary, it shows a person who is awakened by a nightmare and have 9 swords in the background and the dreams of the person is troubled and he covers his face with his hands....

9 is the card or the moviation of the greatest potential of the suit. In the sword suits, thoughts if allows to run wild, all forms of ideas for better or worst will come to mind. A person's mind can only be able to contain that amount of ideas and worries... if not it overwealms persons.

Speaking of dark visions.... for my case i drew the nine of swords often after terrible visions or nightmares the day before.... For my on 21st of December, i had the dreams whereby the values of money is no more. the US dollar, being unable to pay off the deficits of the country is no good. Hence it is cruelty to the world to cut off US, but it is the visions in which 3rd world war will begin due to this and the righting of balances. In this it brings to mind the crowley meanings of the 9 of swords.....
"Pain it is to bear,
Yet Love and kinship Wears.
As time and days reside,
A dream and fantasy abides.
When reality does not wait,
Cruelty escapes the devil's bait...."
In the Crowley tradition, the nine of swords mean Cruelty. Yet it is not really cruelty which stems from the card. As i stated earlier, it is the main driving force behind the suit.

As in 3 of sword, it is a triumph of mind over emotions.... as in 6 of swords, it is the solutions found via pure logic or science.... In the nine it is a combination of 3 and 6 which is logical solutions which is devout of passions.... which to some may seem cruel...

if a limb is infected beyond cure.... though it is cruel to amputate it from the body, yet it is this act in which will save the person. It is the cruelty or the pure logic to do what is right at the correct moment of time devoid of passions.....

If a relationship between 2 persons is failing, yet you do not want to be cruel and cut off the relationship or break up... in the long run both may be hurt even more deeply......

Be it worry or be it cruelty, the nine of swords is a card of great seriousness and warning for all to see and heed.

TEN OF PENTACLES: WEALTH AND MATERIAL FULFILLED.... INHERITANCE.

The 10 in most suits means the fulfillment of a suit. The highest potential in the current one suit. Since Pentacles refer to wealth, money, career and also assets.
and the acquiring of assets and wealth.

One of my tarot students who get this card in her daily draw stated that on the day she would get winfall of cash. It could be by jackpot or a creditor repaying an old debt.

It is also a card of completion of marriage or a fulfilled family. The card also signifies the purchase of a good house.

With regards to business transactions, it would be successful....

A man and woman beneath an archway which gives entrance to a house and domain. They are accompanied by a child, who looks curiously at two dogs accosting an ancient personage seated in the foreground. The child's hand is on one of them.

Gain, riches; family matters, archives, extraction, the abode of a family.

Additional Meanings: Represents house or dwelling, and derives its value from other cards. Reversed: An occasion which may be fortunate or otherwise.
The Worst is concerning health. If asked about health, it could mean that the person would be passing on his wealth to his descendant. Which is the negative aspect of this card. Once i did a reading for a particular person on his health and in the spread both 10 of swords, death and 10 of pentacles appeared. It was shown that he had Terminal cancer and heart problems....

Generally 10 of pentacle is a good card.... except for the regards of health.....
